Superintendent
Mrs. Angela Fitzpatrick was named Superintendent of Karnack ISD on Aug. 2, 2023.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick, a 1994 graduate of Marshall High School who went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts from Wiley College and Master of Education from LeTourneau University, spent 18 years in Marshall ISD. She began her career in education as an instructional aide before rising to become a teacher, assistant principal, and then principal in MISD. Those diverse experiences at every level of public education make her a well-seasoned leader in Karnack ISD.
"It is my goal to build upon the Karnack Independent School District's successes, sustain the district's pride in its history, and continue to make a difference in the lives of students," says Mrs. Fitzpatrick. "I will apply myself diligently to this task and work tirelessly alongside the Board of Trustees to carry out their vision for KISD."
Mrs. Fitzpatrick was principal of Sam Houston Middle School in Marshall from 2012-2017, and then became principal of the new David Crockett Elementary School when it opened in the fall of 2017. She had been named principal of the prestigious Sam Houston STEM Academy in Marshall prior to accepting the KISD Superintendent position in the summer of 2023.
Karnack ISD serves students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade from the Karnack, Uncertain, and greater Caddo Lake areas.
"I strive every day to earn and maintain the respect of Karnack ISD administrators, teachers, staff, and the greater communiity because I know that when mutual respect occurs, morale is high, and teamwork is evident," Fitzpatrick says. "I am honored to support and serve the staff of KISD as we create exceptional learning experiences for students."
